2020 Filing Deadline

This morning, the Treasury Secretary, Steven Mnuchin, announced in a Tweet that the federal tax filing deadline will be moved from April 15th to July 15th this year at President Trump’s direction. This is in addition to the extension of time to pay that was announced previously. It’s unclear at this time how additional extensions will be handled and whether individual states will also move their filing deadlines amid concerns about COVID-19. The IRS has not yet issued official guidance on the move. We will continue to monitor the situation.
